Shortly after converting to Islam, Ibrahim obtained his BA with honors in Humanities & Religious Studies. After this, Ibrahim began to teach at an Islamic high school in California and, in his free time, continued to learn from traditional shaykhs and sources.
After finding that his desire to learn was only growing, Ibrahim decided he wanted to pursue not only traditional knowledge, but academic. He since then applied to continue his education at Hartford Seminary, CT, where he is presently completing both a MA in Islamic Studies & Christian-Muslim Relations, and Islamic chaplaincy certification.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Ibrahim continues to study under traditional scholars and now serves as the first Muslim Chaplain at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, CT
Chaplaincy provides a window into how individuals, families, religions and communities view themselves, their situation and others.
Education is a fundamental factor in encouraging excellence in the pastoral ministry carried out by chaplains in varied institutional settings.
